What it's really like to live in Leesburg
Leesburg is the county seat of Loudoun County, about 35 miles northwest of Washington, DC, where the suburbs give way to rolling horse farms and vineyards. Its historic downtown, founded in 1758, is one of the best preserved in Virginia, with brick sidewalks, 18th and 19th century buildings, and the stately Loudoun County Courthouse at its center. King Street and Market Street are packed with independent restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques.
Life here mixes small-town charm with easy access to the outdoors and Loudoun's famous wine and brewery scene. The W&OD Trail begins its western stretch right downtown, Morven Park and Ball's Bluff Battlefield offer miles of trails, and dozens of wineries sit within a short drive. Neighborhoods range from historic in-town homes to newer communities with pools and clubhouses, and Leesburg Premium Outlets draws shoppers from across the region.
