Falls Church is a compact independent city about seven miles west of Washington, DC, tucked between Arlington and Fairfax County. At just over two square miles, it feels like a true small town, with tree-lined streets, historic homes, and a walkable stretch of Broad Street lined with cafes, restaurants, and local shops. Two Metro stations sit at its edges, so downtown DC is an easy ride without giving up a neighborhood feel.

Weekends here revolve around the year-round Saturday farmers market, the W&OD Trail that cuts right through town, and a food scene that punches far above its size, from tasting menus to the famous Vietnamese shops of nearby Eden Center. The city runs its own highly regarded school division, which is a major draw for families.
